Medicine Lodge is the seat of Barber County located along the Medicine Lodge River in south central Kansas, near the border of Oklahoma. With a population of just over 2,000, it retains a small town feel despite being the largest city in the county. Medicine Lodge is served by U.S. Highways 160 and 281.
Both the Upper and Lower Barber State Fishing Lakes are located on the northern edge of town. Here you can fish for largemouth bass, channel catfish, walleye, bluegill, crappie and more.
